Today I received a phishing email targeting Australians using an email designed to appear to be from the Australian Tax Office.
The email came from the United States and contains a link to a website which uses WordPress. The website is most likely a compromised site and often the owner of the site at first has no idea their site has been hijacked with malicious intent.
Given we are not at the end of the financial year you can expect quite a few phishing attempts and other scams aim at taxpayers.
Do not click on links in emails like these. You should delete these emails.
